Necessity is the mother of all inventions. This is still true for people who have eyes to see problems as challenges and not as hindrances. As it is said, “Find a need and fill it, find a problem and solve it.” If you don’t have any problem, can I give you mine? Kidding aside, all of us face diverse situations and respond differently. Some have faced complex circumstances and overcame them while others simple testings but were overcome by them. Perspective is important in the way we confront each problem we encounter. The way we look at it determines the way we tackle it. That’s why I would like to encourage you my dear reader and friend to learn the art of looking at your problems not as stumbling blocks but stepping stone. They are our opportunities to learn more, develop more, discover more solutions and ways which we have not tried before, and explore further horizon that may challenge us to leave our comfort zones.
Looking at problems as opportunities will not eradicate all our problems but will help us see beyond our present situation. It will make us hopeful that things will change for the better if we will not easily give up. It will inspire us to look for solutions rather than settle where we are. It will stretch our faith believing that good things can still happen. It will propel us to pursue our dreams amidst all discouragements and weariness. It will clear our vision of the future though how cloudy it may seem at the moment.
If a problem comes along your way or maybe you have one now, think of it as an opportunity, a sheep in a wolf’s clothing to reverse that popular saying. It’s an opportunity to grow and mature. An opportunity to discover and learn new skills in problem solving.
In life it’s not what happened to us that really matter but it’s what we do with what happened to us and how we respond to them. Let me quote these inspiring truths from God’s word, “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:8-9; 16-18.
Our problems now, our problems in the future are all temporary and they will all pass away. We are eternal beings. We are now here and we will be there in eternity. Whatever you are going through momentarily, face it squarely, don’t turn away. By faith in God you will surely overcome and be ready for the next problem to come your way. Can i suggest something? Don’t call it problem, call it opportunity. Until my next blog. I hope you were inspired today, at least. Have a good day.
